I literally could not wait until the next episode happened each week. The story got more and more in depth and the characters more engaging each time. And they didn't deal with simple, sentimental issues. Good mysteries set in the 50s with great details. Plus, James Norton is incredibly attractive, and as a priest he is "forbidden fruit," making him more scrumptious ladies. Granted, it takes a certain amount of sophistication and intelligence to appreciate this series. But believe me, watch it from season 1 episode 1 (which you kinda have to do or else a lot won't make sense as each episode builds on the previous) and you will be hooked. It was much, much better than I expected; high quality British programming at it's best.

Give me a break. This innocent priest is always preyed upon by scheming women? What does that have to do with reality? The guy's a creep. This is one of the worst programs...Read complete review

"Grantchester" rocks!

Comments about PBS Masterpiece Mystery!: Grantchester, Season 2 DVD:

Series that has everything: terrific (and gorgeous) actors portraying main characters' of priest and police detective handling one mystery per episode alongside their very involving continuing personal issues of 1950's postwar England with accurate representation of that period's mores and postwar stresses, economic and psychologic. Faithful adherence to period details in costumes, coiffures, set dressing. Highly enjoyable to look at lovely scenery in and around Cambridge. Addictive because of the appealing star actors, especially..

Comments about PBS Masterpiece Mystery!: Grantchester, Season 2 DVD:

Great show! We now live in a society of cheesy "REALITY T.V." non-cerebral "Hollywood" programs and GRANTCHESTER restores your faith that their are still some excellent and interesting shows out there!
