Don't buy this!

By Hopeful Science teacher

from Connecticut

Comments about PBS Smithsonian Room Planetarium and Projector:

I expected with the Smithsonian as the institution backing this product that there would be some value to this product. There is no scientific accuracy to this product. It is not possible to identify a single constellation or even with diligent searching to locate Polaris. This is a complete waste of your money unless you are looking for an expensive night light. Also it runs entirely in batteries.

Comments about PBS Smithsonian Room Planetarium and Projector:

Hello, I did get this for my Granddaughter, she likes it but wish she could get more discs of underwater or scenery .
The few she has is not really enough.
We need help in getting others.

A dissapointment!

By Jack the Teacher

from Central Maine

Comments about PBS Smithsonian Room Planetarium and Projector:

The "northern sky" which supposedly takes up the main part of the display, does not show the stars and constellations as they really exist. The image wheels are good, but the main show is seriously deficient. Given by my wife with the idea I might use it in my informal astronomy classes and then give it to a school will not come to pass. Poor teaching tool.

Comments about PBS Smithsonian Room Planetarium and Projector:

Bought for grandson, has 3 slide wheels, some nice pictures of planets and other solar system items.
For the money it was a fair value

Prepare to be awed

By North Carolina Grandma

Comments about PBS Smithsonian Room Planetarium and Projector:

This is plastic and seems rather inexpensive. If mom and dad are in charge it would okay. Don't know how well it will hold up if a five and six year-old are in charge. Otherwise it works, and the images on our ceiling when we tested it, are awesome.
