Learn how natural forces of geology, climate, and geography made Earth what it is today, while changing the course of human life. How did environment influence civilization's development? The 5-part series offers an unorthodox view of human history and reasons for development of art, religion, and warfare, overturning preconceived notions about man's controlling role to build a radical new perspective.

Comments about PBS How the Earth Changed History Blu-ray:

Why we live here rather than there, why and how we discovered the world, etc. those important questions have found answers only in recent years and those BBC-PBS BluRay documentaries as about as good as you can get with today technology: stunning images and flawless execution. They represent, by far, the best way to give the general public a decent scientific understanding of how our planet ticks in relation to our human lives. The main natural forces that shaped our history are still at work. We cannot afford to ignore them. Those movies should be a must in every high school/college of this planet.
My only regret: either dub or have subtitles in 50 languages, those movies must be seen by the largest number and English version will reach only a fraction of the world population. Too bad!
