Comments about PBS Oregon Experience: The Spirit of Tek DVD:
I grew up as a Tek Kid. My Mom, Helen Riley was the 82nd person hired at Tek. My Dad, George Riley hired on later. After High School I worked there for 3 years earning money for College.
This documentary told my childhood in the '50s and captured what the essence of Tek was to so many who worked there and were part of that special family. It was fun to see so many people I knew, even though I can't remember many of the names. It was so good to remember what the "Tek Spirit" was. It was truely a unique work experience that I wish more people could share today.
Thank you so much !
Kathleen Riley
Comments about PBS Oregon Experience: The Spirit of Tek DVD:
Excellent review of the start of Tektronix and the views of a few of the people that helped make the company so great in the early years.
Includes comments by founder Howard Vollum that were recorded in the 80s. Includes interviews with former employees that went on to form their own companies. Tek did indeed change Beaverton, Oregon, and the World.
I am so glad that I was a part of it!
