Comments about PBS Legacy: The Origin of Civilization DVD:

This program shows a sensitivity and joy in ancient cultures not found elsewhere. Michael Wood is a poetic guide to lost civilizations, and is able to read into their monuments, and inscriptions, a spirit that carries forward to modern 21st century survivors. He deftly juxtaposes imagery of ruins with crowded marketplaces and cities, and makes connections between the ancient cultures and modern civilization that are brilliant. A masterpiece!
