I have seen Olivier, Jacobi, Branaugh, and others as Hamlet. Although in a modern setting, this version was the most "real" out of all of them. I felt as if I were watching it for the first time. The roles weren't acted...the words were simply said truthfully. You felt as if the actors were having normal dialogues, but in an unnatural setting. I watched it several times, and learned something new with each viewing. The modern setting was unsettling on its own. You'll have to watch it to understand what I mean. Just the best!
