Comments about PBS A Sense of Wonder DVD:
This 2008 film belongs in every personal, public and school library and classroom, as well as in every bookstore. Acted convincingly and movingly at her actual homes in Maine and Maryland, it provides extra insight into the kind of person she was. The 3 bonus commentaries are also true gems. It's wonderfully inspiring to see the difference that one courageous determined person can make and to carry on the important work she started. A must for all ages - either alone or along with her iconic book, Silent Spring.
Comments about PBS A Sense of Wonder DVD:
This was a very well done piece reenacting interviews given by the late Rachel Carson concerning not only the environment and her concern for it, but also offered a rare insight into her personal struggles throughout her life. Recommend it highly!

Comments about PBS A Sense of Wonder DVD:
This was an exceptional performance by an exceptional actress portraying an exceptional person. What a stunning film! A poetical work, and a superb performance. A very important work - the content so important, timeless. And I must add, with today's commercial TV networks dumbing down their programming to insult our intelligence - thank you to PBS for airing this intellectually stimulating and pertinent film - thank you for believing your viewers are intelligent persons.
Viewers - pay attention to Rachel's closing statement - her message. This is prophecy for our time!
Comments about PBS A Sense of Wonder DVD:
A brave woman, a leader, she really made a difference. In a time when nobody had the courage to speak out, she moved mountains to publish Silence Springs. Can you imagine springtime without the singing of the birds? She demonstrated that humans have the power and the choice to trash this land, or to keep it for future generations. Fortunately, JFK was in the White House, and not somebody else. And the Robins came back again, spring after spring, singing, telling us that they are here because we care.
