Comments about PBS Through a Dog's Eyes DVD:
When this movie came out, I had just been diagnosed with MS. I am a working physical therapist and knew the nature of progression with this disease. I was devastated! When my husband and I watched the documentary on PBS, my despair turned to inspiration. I decided to do something to fight this evil intruder. Jennifer Arnold also has MS. After seeing what the dogs did to give her life back to her--I decided to obtain a service dog. Because I work in private homes as a home health therapist, I knew I would be a low priority for a program dog. ADA excludes private homes, so I would not be able to take a service dog to work. Instead, we started looking for the right puppy to train as a service dog. We hired professional trainers and now have an owner-trained mobility assistance dog. Shai is 2 years old, and we are inseparable. He has been more than any MS medication for me. He has gotten me through this horrible changes in our lives forced by MS. I send thanks to PBS and Jennifer Arnold for giving me an idea that has changed our lives forever.
Comments about PBS Through a Dog's Eyes DVD:
This film was most appreciated by family members as it helped us to see the many opportunities for individuals with disabilities using the assistance of a service dog. This film educates on how much time and effort is given by the dogs, trainers and people who need the service of the dog. Most credit was given to the service dogs and rightfully so.

Excellent documentary that explores the unique bond man has with dogs and the profound ways service dogs influence the lives of their owners. This is a realistic, not romanticized, treatment of the topic. Viewers will be moved, experiencing the emotional roller coasters working with these remarkable dogs and heroic individuals brings. Highly recommended!
Comments about PBS Through a Dog's Eyes DVD:
Although this documentary is about how service dogs are trained, it is equally about the very special people they serve. A lovingly presented honest portrayal. Three cheers!
