Where the wild things are; chances are that's where you'll find our nation's wildlife refuges. National wildlife refuges are part of a grand success story that dates back more than a century. We explore the six national refuges in Idaho: Deer Flat, Kootenai, Minidoka, Bear Lake, Grays Lake, and Camas. They are a remarkable attempt to resist the encroachments of civilization.

Comments about PBS Seeking Refuge DVD:

Seeking Refuge shows two views of Caribou Mountain located east of Grays Lake. First, the West slopes and then at the end of the film you see the the NW view of the magnificent glaciated bowl on the North slopes of Caribou Mountain.
Drive to the north end of the Grays Lake road and then drive east on the McCoy Creek road. The McCoy Creek road leads to the east end of the Caribou Basin where you can view the magnificent glaciated east slopes of Caribou Mountain in the Caribou National Forest.
