It is so sad to watch this documentary about the allied forces bombing an innocent city and its' citizens both elderly, children and wounded to the point of ad nauseum. They did not deserve this and the British should be ashamed of what they did that served absolutely no point.

Caught it Last Night on PBS

....well, that was my dad's old WWII squadron they were talking about in the film and it was nice to have the vast number of his limited war stories varified. From his own writing, he claimed to reach the European Theater in early March 1945 flying in 11 combat missions after that point. His 12th mission was called off because of bad weather conditions and the bombs were dropped in the English Channel so, I can say that he flew with men who, despite the bitterness associated with combat, actually held themselves better than their opponent even up to and beyond the surrender of the NAZI's.
