Comments about PBS NOVA: Building Pharaoh's Ship DVD:
typical pbs comedy (not intentional) as group of egyptian so-called shipbuilders tap and tap on a boat that sinks when they launch it; of course all done so historically; sure; then they wait for the wood to swell- and, it still sinks; then, leap of faith, we found some linen near the site of some boatbuilding- oh, not from their clothes, hey , maybe for caulking; sure; ludicrous, fanciful, not science, not researched- a joke

Enjoyable to watch and learn of the ancient ways of ship building and the engineering that went into it. Since the days of Noah, the advancements of using natural resources to build such structures has it's appeal in vessels to this day.

I take exception to the previous reviewer, who claims to be an Egyptologist which I personally doubt. This is a marvelous story of intellect and creativity of an Ancient people. The theme is simple, to build a sailing boat using the same materials tools and techniques of the Ancient people. Then to make it all fun, to take the boat and go sail it! Along the way many mistakes are made, lessons are relearned about how to do things and wisdom obtained. What an adventure! Do go and take a look at this DVD
