Charles Darwin's theory of natural selection has never suffered for a lack of detractors, even 150 years after On the Origin of Species appeared and Darwin's theory gradually became a cornerstone of modern biology. Darwin disciple Richard Dawkins challenges doubters with a clear, straightforward explanation of the still-controversial theory in a lively three-part series, exploring implications for the human race and the universe.

Comments about PBS The Genius of Charles Darwin DVD:

The familiar story of evolution is highlighted in this program by being hosted by perhaps the most influential evolutionary biologist since Darwin, Richard Dawkins. His patience with those who deny the fact of evolution and cling to mythical exlpanations of the origin of life is truly astouding. He could have gone a little deeper into modern explanations for the origins of human altruism but that would have strayed from Darwin a bit. I highly recommended this DVD for those on the brink of abandoning mythology for the wonders of science.
