Comments about PBS Elbert Hubbard: Rebel of the Arts and Crafts Movement DVD:
I purchased this DVD for 2 reasons: My Mother liked the writings of Hubbard, and had them in the house. I read "Message to Garcia", "The Silver Arrow", and whatever else she had bought before she was married when I was young. In the '90's, I visited my friend in Buffalo, NY, and we drove to the Roycroft Campus. We enjoyed a fine meal at the Inn, and stayed overnight, even though the renovation was just about completed. The video brought back a wonderful time in East Aurora, and introduced me to other places of a similar nature. I now have and treasure Mother's bookends and bud vase with the Roycroft symbol. I found a variety of glass tubes that fit the bud vase stand in the shop that was featured in the video. (Great to have a backup for something that fragile.)Very interesting video, and a short escape from daily routine. All of the presenters did well in placing Hubbard's life in historical perspective in an accessible way. Well worth one's time.
Comments about PBS Elbert Hubbard: Rebel of the Arts and Crafts Movement DVD:
We are fortunate to live relatively close to East Aurora to have been able to go to Roycoft after seeing this program on WNED/PBS. I just had to have this DVD for my home collection because now we go as often as we can. Being in marketing I was so inspired by Elbert Hubbard's life - as an artist facinated with the Roycroft way of life. Thank you PBS for this program, if not for it, I would have never discovered Roycroft.

The recipient of this video is very much into the Arts and Crafts era and she totally loved this DVD.
Comments about PBS Elbert Hubbard: Rebel of the Arts and Crafts Movement DVD:
The documentary of Elbert Hubbard is an engrossing portrait of a man whose participation in the arts and crafts movement was seminal.
Comments about PBS Elbert Hubbard: Rebel of the Arts and Crafts Movement DVD:
His life is both relatable but untouchable to most. Elbert's life has the aspects we all live; aspirations, achievements, love achieved/love lost, periods of confusion and extreme clarity. However, and why we watch, amazing highs. I've gained wonderful history & human insight through Elbert Hubbard and will be sending this DVD to family and friends.
