I watched the presentation with my wife on PBS. We both enjoyed the shows very much.

Well written, well produced and well acted, this story is interesting, especially for someone who doesn't know much about Charles Darwin or the theory of natural selection.

This was one of the finest dramatizations that Nova has ever done. I don't think a Nova has ever brought tears to my eyes, but this one did. It captured the honorable nature of Darwin and his attempt to get things right before releasing such a game changing theory on the world.
It also shows what horrible tragedies he was going through with the loss of 2 children during this time. We see Darwin the man, not Darwin the "anti-christ" of rabid religious people or even Darwin the Genius Scientist, but Darwin, a man of poor health, great honor, and great abilities.
Equally as impressive is how his marriage is played out and how his religious wife obviously was troubled by his lack of faith, but ultimately loved the man and realized supporting him was more important to her than having him falsely believe in something he couldn't believe in.
To summarize, "WOW". So good.
