Baez is a great person, not just for her unparalleled voice and lengthy career, but for her unwavering integrity. What a pleasure to see and hear her through the years.
Comments about PBS American Masters: Joan Baez: How Sweet the Sound DVD/CD:
Music videos by Joan Baez are scarce but this one was not a disappointment. I listened to her music in the late 60s and believed she created the best sound if not as creative as some others. This video supplied extensive information about her career--some of which I did not know previously. As it states in this video, she is extremely talented. She was also very much into the spirit of the times.

It just kills me when my daughter and others her age say, "Who is Joan Baez". Now I can sit them down and they get the enormity of her career and talent. She was such an insperation for me when I was young. She never disapoints and the documentry is A 1.

Hello PBS! and maybe Joan too!
Just from the previews and the video outtakes I am ordering DVDs for my many of my family and friends - including the Quaker meetings I attend.
Actually I was with Joan's mother in the cafe
where she is singing 'Barbry Allen' and my kids were raised on her music, along with Pete Seeger
and Bob Dylan. Her voice rings in my soul to this day and I remember passing out Peace booklets after the movie "On the Beach" as well as Mimi's wedding.
With thanks to PBS and affection to Joan and her family,
Bobbi Knowlton
