I happened to stumble by accident on the description of this program on my TV screen a few weeks ago. When I read it, I went immediately to WGBH TV to watch it. I play a Steinway piano when I go to my music teacher's house for lessons every week. She has seen the program and loves it, because it tells the story of how her instrument was made. Her parents got a Steinway for her when she started her studies at THE ROYAL CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC in Toronto, ON. It's a marvelous instrument. This is an unforgettable story. The people who make Steinway pianos should be very proud of their work. They are true artists and craftsmen in their own right.

We were immediately hooked when we happened upon this PBS program, even though we have never played the piano. Watching these devoted, talented craftsmen was mesmerizing.
We purchased two copies, one for our grandchildren, who do play the piano and one for us.

I originally saw this in a theater, and was awed at the process of creating a single Steinway grand. Excellent interviews! A treasure for our generation to share with the next - I bought a copy for each of my young adult children.
