FRONTLINE examines the rising hazards to human health and eco-system, and why it's so hard to keep our waters clean. The coastal estuaries of Puget Sound and the Chesapeake Bay-are in perilous condition. Polluted runoff still flows in from industry, agriculture, and massive suburban development, and scientists fear contamination to the food chain, drinking water, as well as a growing list of endangered species.

Comments about PBS FRONTLINE: Poisoned Waters DVD:

First in it's endeavor and not necessarily fulfilling with answers, however, I had to look twice at the message and wonder...Nice Job Frontline!!!! I'm ordering another, now, for the Water Issues Leader here in Central Arizona, by the Headwaters of the "endangered" Verde River.

An excellent teaching tool

Comments about PBS FRONTLINE: Poisoned Waters DVD:

Poisoned Waters is an excellent teaching tool for laying out the economic, political, and technical challenges we face when attempting to clean up the Chesapeak Bay or Puget Sound. The battle is being lost politically when needed legislation is brought before federal or state governments. Powerful economic intersts seem to override the the common interest in preserving the water quality of these treasured aquatic environments.

We Must All Know This!

Comments about PBS FRONTLINE: Poisoned Waters DVD:

This is the best environmental piece I have ever seen. Bar none. Every man-Jack and woman-Jill among us must watch this film without distraction at least once. After 153 minutes I felt like I might have received the equivalent of an AB in Environmental Studies. I really learned something. A lot. If you have children already able to grasp the content, this is where you must spend time together. Talk about what this means with your kids and friends. In the short time since the world reached 6 billion souls, which seems like yesterday, we have reached 6.7 billion souls! (Bet you didn't know this!) The downside of what is covered in this film, and it is a huge downside, is going to be exacerbated at a geometric rate as we pass through 7 billion, UNLESS we rethink decades of sleepwalking through our lives while allowing the destruction of our natural patrimony and nature in its entirety. Mother Nature needs our help oh so badly. Allow yourself time to think along as you watch this piece. Generations yet to come will pay the price if most of us now here don't "get it." And we will lose the planet, in time, if we don't act in some way to reverse our course. Right now there are 6-legged frogs treading the earth because of our mistakes and stupidity (and, yes, the interminable greed of too many), but I fear 6-legged humans are not far behind if we do not mend our ways and quickly...

Conservative Conservation Contrarian

Comments about PBS FRONTLINE: Poisoned Waters DVD:

Long haired, emoting reactionaries, effite tree huggers, anti-capitolist, anti-religious, clueless tools of anti-American leaders and all those who percieve themselves as the helpless victims of corporate America; on the dire conditions of our precious estuaries and water ways this conservative gets it. Thank you PBS.
Your piece on Frontline titled "Poisoned Waters" was startaling. I am trainable just don't run out of raw meet.
This essay touched two areas I recently visited and sat there stuned by the assertions. The poluted conditions of both Puget Sound and Chessapeak Bay made me want to cry. It was captivating for its documentation, information and spokespersons. Yes! I did catch the bias of the narator's script but the overall depiction appeared well supported and the tone of alarm came from fact not emotional apeal.
What evil has predisposed political camps to accept or reject propositions that consider the source more iportant than the message.
This presentation is important to everyone. You have motivated this Tea Party advocate to further research the facts of poluted waterways and act accordingly. Thank you again.
