This program is one of the best documentary style products that I have viewed for presenting some of the thorny issues that exist between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. It guides the viewer through the past and the present to take a closer look into those world religions and the political, cultural, ethnic, religious, and social customs associated with the interaction of these three monotheistic sisters.

This documentary seems to omit some highly meaningful historical facts that we know about the onset of the crusades and what triggered them. Other more detailed multi-part series such as "Islam, Empire of Faith" or similar - if I recall the same correctly - covered them more exhaustively. In any instance, it seemed strange not to mention the burning of the Christian church by the local caliph, and the insistence in Saladin's merciful character when in the Islam empire butchery had been a way of life just as well.

I found this DVD to be especially informative, easy to follow, interesting, lively, colorful. I learned a great deal from watching it. I look forward to showing it to my twelve-year-old grandchildren. J.B.

I saw this program on PBS (KLRU in Austin) and I could not stop watching it. The story alone is worth hearing, but I finally feel like I understand more about how and why the city developed in the way it did. And, why people still fight over it.
But, I actually bought the DVD, because my 85 year old parents enjoyed the pace of the narration and it was easy for them to follow and put into perspective. My Dad actually has watched it 3 times and he recommended it to others.
I've seen many other documentaries, but most of them have heavy religious slants that aren't always balanced and fair. This is worthy of a Disertation work. Well done and excellent editing and post-production work !
This one does belong in your own video collection.

I found this series very informative and objective. Perfect for an individual who wants a great snap shot on the subject. Ray does his usual professional best to present the information in a straight forward way. I am glad I took the time to purchase it!
