Whether you are a devotee of Shakespeare, are unsure, or new to his genius, you will love this performance -- as good as any I've ever seen at the Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Ontario. The sets highlight the acting, rather than compete with it. If you watch only one Shakespeare play ever, make King Lear it - and this performance is among the best.

I purchased this as the perfect Xmas present for my Grandson and his family . . and I expect they all will truly enjoy it. I have seen the performance before and would like to purchase a copy for myself but Christmas money is tight ! Maybe in the spring !

This is simply the best performance I have ever seen. I love Shakespeare's plays, but because of where I live I don't often get a chance to see them performed, so this was a real treat for me. The acting is exemplary and the sets are made to NOT draw attention away from the performances. It's not full of flash, but if you like Shakespeare you won't notice. This is the way real acting is supposed to be seen.
