Educational use

I am requiring my college freshman biology students to watch this video because it so clearly illustrates the principle of exponential growth, a J curve, the practical value of scientific investigation, community ecology and the plight of those who remain ignorant of these concepts. It is well laid out, captivating and current. The main characters are winsome and believable. The story gathers the viewer into its plot.

We watched and then bought the DVD to send to our son who will be the subject of a Discovery film of the same phenomenon in Bangladesh. He is very dedicated to getting this scourge of the regions of the world under control. His show will be titled "Rat Race". Hopefully it will be shown on PBS.

Excellent interesting, instructional DVD

This video tells a captivating story about an occurence that happens every 48 years--soemwhat akin to the story of Haley's Comet. Yet, this story has potentially tragic consequences for the inhabitants of far eastern India. The story presented here is enthralling, emotional, and instructional. Excellent job of video-based storytelling.
