Comments about PBS I.O.U.S.A. DVD:

As your buddy Al Gore might say; it's an inconvenient truth but you ignore at your own peril. You're ignorance shines through like lady libertys' torch!!

shameful hypocrisy

Comments about PBS I.O.U.S.A. DVD:

this gets three stars for being "fair and balanced"... yeah, like fox news.

the fact that a distinguished and yes, public, organization like PBS would sell such right-wing hysteria is shocking.

"bite the bullet", "hard-choices", "austerity" chants. typical pseudo-populist tea party (ie: corporatist backed, funded, scripted...) fascist fodder.

mostly garbage. take with a grain of salt at the VERY best.

There is a crisis in America and many people have no idea how bad it is or how it can affect them. It should be required viewing for any American, A.S.A.P.!

Best Documentary of 2008

Comments about PBS I.O.U.S.A. DVD:

From the same filmmaking team that made "Wordplay", this non-partisan, expertly crafted film tells the incredible story of how the richest country in the world is quickly going broke. I highly recommend this film to anyone who claims to give a darn about the United States, especially today's high school and college students who are going to have to pay for this mess if we don't get our act together.

I saw the film in theaters and was expecting a polemic; instead -- refreshingly -- it was reasoned, brilliantly explained and organized, and stayed with me and my wife for a very long time. We discuss the film constantly.

If you find yourself reading today's headlines about budget deficits, trade imbalances, the national debt, or the value of the dollar and feel lost or confused, buy this film and see how it all fits together. A truly incredible story. I was sorry to see that it didn't win the Oscar this year.
