The Dave Clark Five started the rock 'n' roll "British invasion" that changed the world, having already knocked The Beatles out of the #1 position in the UK. Watch newly-filmed interviews with Tom Hanks, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Dionne Warwick and many more, as they share their memories of how the music of the '60s changed their lives forever.

Comments about PBS The Dave Clark Five And Beyond: Glad All Over Blu-ray:

The Dave Clark Five is my all time favorite recording artist. I watched and recorded the PBS show on the night of broadcast (April 8th) and was very pleased to find out a few days later that it was available on blu-ray. I ordered on the 15th and received on the 21st. Disc 1 is a little longer that the PBS broadcast. Disc 1/broadcast show has plenty of stars, singers, and experts talking about and praising the group. Great to listen to and watch. Disc 2 has several great live recordings in super color and good sound. The song/video "Sitting Here Baby" I had not seen since it was on Ed Sullivan in 1966. I saw it in b/w then and with the blu-ray the color and sound is fantastic. Half of disc 2 is interviews and highlights of "Time the Musical" which is interesting, but of course, the information on The Five and the live recordings is the most enjoyable portion. You have the band playing a live "Nineteen Days" (which incidentally was the A side of "Sitting Here Baby") and the performance of "Georgia" at a Royal Command Show. You have the "Hits in Action" shown complete for the first time since being released in theaters in 1966. You have several live videos of some of their biggest hits. The discs can be set for DST sound and like I said the color for this blu-ray is the best. I do not know of any person who would not enjoy these discs. The Dave Clark Five could play just about any kind of music. Recommended to buy and play and keep and play again.

Comments about PBS The Dave Clark Five And Beyond: Glad All Over Blu-ray:

At last! The missing piece of the British Invasion story. Easy to see why the Dave Clark Five was so popular in the 60's! And glad to see they finally got their due! Bonus disc is just as interesting as the PBS show. Saw lead singer Mike Smith on his 2003 tour and can attest to the power of his vocals. Thanks for the memories!
