Season 1 DVD

Mark Williams (Harry Potter films) stars as a priest with a gift for solving crimes in the hit new BBC series, set in the picture-perfect village of Kembleford in the 1950s. Don't be fooled by Father Brown's mild-mannered behavior. His compassion helps him see into the hearts of people on both sides of the law, while his playful wit and razor-sharp mind catch thieves and murderers off guard.

Comments about PBS Father Brown Season One DVD:

The scenery is spectacular and very sharp. Father Brown is great and shows how resourceful he is. I like his mild manners and sound advice. What a pleasant surprise this series is and all of the characters. I will keep watching.

Quaint English Countryside Setting at its Best!

Comments about PBS Father Brown Season One DVD:

"Father Brown" is tea-cozy storytelling with a deep heart. The characters are portrayed perfectly--Father Brown, Mrs. McCarthy, Susie, Lady Felicia, Sid, the Inspector, all set in the perfect English countryside of "Kembleford" in the Cotswolds. Father Brown, true to his calling, is concerned about the perpetrators' souls first and to solving the mystery second. This is perfect comfort fare for me!

Comments about PBS Father Brown Season One DVD:

The new Father Brown series stars a character who is warm, engaging and a "true believer". The excellent writing is only surpassed by the great ensemble cast. Can't wait for the complete season 3 to be released.

    Three Cheers for Father Brown

Comments about PBS Father Brown Season One DVD:

Cast of characters in small British village of the 50s is quaint and homey. The nosey priest of the village gets himself involved much to the chagrin of the local constabulary but always seems to ferret the clues to solve the mystery. Father Brown's local cohorts often help too (or try to anyway) which adds to the joy of the series in that you can often relate to the characters as someone you might know.

Great cast of actors who mesh well which shows in their relationship of the characters they play.

We even watch the reruns and enjoy them almost as much as the first time. Looking forward to the next season.
