Comments about PBS FRONTLINE: The Hugo Chavez Show DVD:

What a disaster in only one person.

This Program is a excellent description of what is happening in Venezuela.
What Castro couldn't do in the 60's, Chavez is making gigantic progress in the XXI Century converting Venezuela in a communist country.

Comments about PBS FRONTLINE: The Hugo Chavez Show DVD:

I'm Venezuelan now living in Canada. I bought this DVD, only for history purposes.

The reason for me to emigrate to the great north was Hugo Chavez. In short, because his policies cause many uncertainties, in the case you want to plan your life, these policies doesn't allow you to do such a thing. It has been 10 years since he has been in power, under the promise to change Venezuela for the better, this hasn't happened at all, as a matter of fact it has become worst than it was before him.

Let me be clear, I was born and raise in Venezuela with Venezuelan roots of several generations and finally I emigrated to Canada in 2006, so *I lived this documentary*. I voted in 1999 for Chavez, then I became his opposition (as a common citizen), I rallied (in oppositions rallies) against him, many many times, thanks to Chavez -sadly- I've learn what it is to hate. :-( I was part of many of the events that were shown in the documentary, I lived them as I was involved (like millions of Venezuelans) actively in overthrowing his government in the most peaceful way. Unfortunately, with Chavez, peaceful methods doesn't work.

This program says what's needed to be said in 90 min. There are many details not properly explained, however each of those details can be an specific program in itself. I'm not saying they should have been in the documentary, all I'm saying that given the time constrains, this is what can be said to understand the situation.

Just keep in mind something, like its said in the documentary: Chavez is a master of the media. The mastery includes hiring a good PR firm in the US, which in turns makes a good image of him in foreign countries, and that's why he's liked abroad. In this regard his a pioneer among dictators.

I can go on and on, but life is short... Buy it, learn from the mistakes of other peoples and enjoy.

Cheers.

Excellent presentation !

Comments about PBS FRONTLINE: The Hugo Chavez Show DVD:

I did watch this program on PBS and probably I will order a copy for a friend in Venezuela.
It is unfortunate that they have to wait until the poor people of the country experienced the lack of food and protection from the autorities to learn the costly mistake of improvisation by an uneducated and egotistic president.
True that ignorance can not be compensated with wealth and it is sad to see how the resources of a country as rich as Venezuela are being wasted or ??????

A "must view" television experience!

Comments about PBS FRONTLINE: The Hugo Chavez Show DVD:

Front line is living-up to it's usual standard of excellence!! This was a very fair and balanced report that shows how one man is trying to change the course of Latin American politics and how, eventually, he may be doomed to failure. It is a fair and balanced report regarding how Mr. Chavez has risen to power and how, in the end, he may not survive politically! You would make a wise decision to invest 90 minutes to view this program!
