I teach at an alternative high school and pulled this out one day when I needed something generic to watch. It held their attention VERY well, which is saying something these days. Excellent info and well put together.
Comments about PBS National Geographic Specials: Stress: Portrait of a Killer DVD:
Stress: Portrait of a Killer DVD is powerful and life changing information! The DVD is impressive; inevitably you will walk away with the intention of sharing your newfound knowledge and living a more stress free life. I gave the DVD four stars only because it did not include stress relief activities or exercises which I believe would have been appropriate.

The scientific presentation based on the direct investigative experiences of an anthropologist was captivating, easy to follow and to understand for an area of study that might be considered dull. The final visits to the baboon troop not only reconfirmed the findings about stress generation and its effects in societies that mirror our human society but also had a hidden implication of how to reduce flow down stress and their effects with in human groups and organizations...a solution that may be drastic but demonstrated to be a game changer for those looking for ways to reduce stress within the entire "stress flow down" process.

My doctor has been telling me for years to slow down and not stress out over things. I have now been diagnosed with autoimmune disease and with this DVD I can honestly say it has scared me straight! Great video and after watching it, anyone who "stresses" out will want to think twice if it is worth it after seeing the effects on the human body and brain!
