Great video. Thomas Merton is my HERO!

Excellent video as you would expect from PBS. Thomas Merton was an exceptional spirit who had a most untimely death. Highly recommend video! I have been to his hermitage and monastery. Cannot say enough about the video and Merton.

This is a compelling overview of Thomas Merton's life that is sure to inspire people to revisit his life and readings. It works on many levels; I used it for my RCIA inquirers' class apprehensive that it might be too deep but they loved it. It clearly depicted the stages of spiritual growth he underwent on his journey. Through some great interviews with people who knew him and have written about him, it gives Merton proper credit for singlehandedly reviving contemplative life in the modern world and why we're just beginning to catch up with him. Love the last comment, which is by his biographer.
