Recently, (July 2009) my family and I traveled to Bedford, Pa. for a visit to see family friends. I used to live in Bedford. I've traveled that portion of the Lincoln Highway many times. Used to see the old Coffee Pot weekly, and found out last week that they moved it across the street to in front of the fairgrounds! This trip, we traveled to the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pa., just off the old Lincoln. I had a traveler's guide from the hotel and it had a driving tour of the Lincoln Route in it. I was reading to the kids and we laughed and had a wonderful trip. We stopped at the Summit where the Ship Hotel used to be! I was so sad to see it was gone. We took pictures anyway and the trip became a part of my children's history now. Watching the show on TV tonight brought back fun memories and I am going to buy the DVD to keep in the family. The show is magnificent and will be part of my family for years to come! Excellent!! Thanks for making it! We want to travel the Lincoln further now!

Interesting topics, older publication, however as it is a review of travel destinations, it is not very time sensitive.

Comments about PBS A Ride Along The Lincoln Highway DVD:

I saw this program on KQED in San Francisco. I found it very interesting and informative. I bought it as a Christmas gift for a friend so I will not see it again until after Christmas.
