amazing determination

This DVD was very educational. It showed what the problem was and what he had to go through to solve the problem using what was available back in his time.The determination considering it took almost his life time to do it and how he was almost depribed of his prize once he acomplished it. The closing statement of how modern GPS units still depend on his method of knowing where we are today was so fitting. I really enjoyed watching this from begining to the end.

I have a special interest in navigation since I sail and since I am preparing a speech on the topic. "Longitude" was wonderful both as a teaching tool and in terms of entertainment. I felt that I had a much better grasp of the topic than I had gotten in all my reading. This was truly outstanding! Of course, I love science and navigation and this took me to a higher level.
