After seeing the series on san diego naval base and also seeing the series on ddg 91 coming back from rempac i feel in love with the dvd and will show this video to the seamen who have never been out to sea. This series helped me with motivation to get through the days out to sea for the first time this year 2008. im a boatswains mate seaman apprentice and have been in the navy for a year and would love to show my parents what life on a ship is like. Thank you for a great job and hope for filming on my (Brand new ship STOCKDALE DDG 106)we are a great ship that has many sailors sailing for the first time in their life and getting used to being on the ship.

I bought this to see a DVD made about carriers, and I get worthless anti war propaganda from the producers. Give me back my money. I am so disappointed. Who wants to see about "life" aboard a U. S. naval ship. Look next door if you want to see personal drama. The young sailors aboard ships are barely older than teenagers, and with the same amount of wisdom. I'll look elsewhere. Semper Fi.

I have watched this series over and over and love the real life personal struggles and views of every member on board. Its insperational to see what these people go through every day.
My only complaint is that there is only one season! I hope PBS does another season as unbiased and personal as this one was.
