Comments about PBS NOVA: Death of a Star DVD:

This is a story about the obervation of a supernova sometime in the late 1980s. It is an inspiring example of how a group of astromomers cooperated to work out the details of an event in which a star with a very large mass when compared to the our sun explodes with a briliant light. It is during a supernova that the elements necessary for life are produced by the fusion of elements such as carbon, oxygen and others. This is once in a lifetime event for astromers. We as human beings and the solar system we inhabit are all part of an evolutionry process that started billions of years ago with a suupernova explosion.
