Last night on our PBS station in Memphis, I watched the Brain Fitness program narrated by Peter Coyote. The program was used as a fund raiser for the local station. One of the extras you could receive if you donated to PBS while this program was on was a computer DVD with a series of brain exercises to help you stimulate the brain. The local announcer said the DVD was user-friendly for those with little computer knowledge and the testimonials were extremely positive. Evidently, your purchase only included the DVD program and did not include the DVD with brain stimulating exercises. I think the exercise DVD is the KEY. Overall, I found the program was extremely interesting.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the documentary explaining plasticity of the brain and debunking the myths of aging, I was expecting a Brain Fitness "Program" - something I could follow and put to use to expand and sharpen my brain. The description says "..a team of scientists has developed computer-based stimulus sets .." but I don't see anything like that in my DVD. What gives?

If you're looking for a step by step brain exorcize program, this is not what you are looking for. You can find a software program for PC by the same name here at PBS for $379.00. A bit pricey for my budget! This video DVD is a highly informative program that can help you understand that you brain can be retrained and yes, us old dogs can still learn new tricks. I thought it was very informative and encouraging to my wife who has suffered a serious stroke and was left her paralyzed on her left side. There is still hope for those out there wondering if the brain is capable of relearning. This video confirms that! Enjoy and know that God has perfectly designed us!

I enjoyed this DVD. I used it in a group therapy to help group members understand that one can impact what goes through one's mind. I would like a DVD with actual exercises, not just the explanations of how they work. The material was known to me, because I am a neuropsychologist; something appropriate for people without a degree in anything was needed, and this fit.

The description you have for this DVD is totally misleading. The indication is that sets of exercizes are included, but it is nothing more than just the TV program - a great disappointment

In watching the TV show, we were lead to believe that there were brain exercises with this program. If we had wanted just the program that was broadcast we could have just taped it off air. The show was very misleading. We have returned the two dvd's that we ordered.
