I thought this documentary told the events in a fair and unvarnished way. It strictly told the facts from both sides. They interviewed people on both sides of the issue and did not interfere or try to coerce people in any way.
In court, the evidence that the Evolution side had was riveting. They were able to answer questions very succinctly. The evidence was so good that even the fundamentalist right wing judge had to rule for the Evolution side.
A lot of people make judgments without knowing any of the evidence. If you do not know why you do or don't believe in Evolution watch this film and many of your questions will be answered.

This is a wonderfully produced film about the Dover school trial. Unfortunately the narrator uses a lot of biased words in the presentation. It is clear form the beginning that the makers of this film were rooting for one side over the other. Even with that you can still get a lot of good information, the fact that the court testimony in the reenactment is taken directly form the court transcripts is great.
I would recommend this film for someone that is studying the case but would avoid showing to anyone that does not understand the bias nature of the presentation of those facts.

Comments about PBS NOVA: Judgment Day: Intelligent Design on Trial DVD:
This documentary presents the perfect combination of the personal becoming political, legal constructs, and current scientific thought. Certain members of the Dover school board, in a well-intended but ill advised decision, tried to force creationism/intelligent design into biology classes. Unlike the Scopes' trial 60 some years previously, in this case the jurist determined that current knowledge on both ID and evolution were necessary to make an informed decision on the suit. The resultant clash creates the kind of drama for which writers of fiction can only strive. This documentary/docudrama presents a calm,even-handed treatment of the case (letting the events provide the excitment). In a classroom, this DVD would be appropriate for any social science (such as sociology, poli sci, history, psych, gov)or "hard" science (especially, biology, where it came add a touch of the dramatic, in case mitochondria and ATP aren't exciting enough).

Do you have anything by Carl Jung?
Comments about PBS NOVA: Judgment Day: Intelligent Design on Trial DVD:
The story taught me very much about the way to think about evolution. Of course it is in America a controversial subject. The story and DVD clearly showed me how difficult it will be to put arguments against the overwhelming evidence in favor of evolution.

Wonderful treatment of this subject. Lets everyone have a say, the chips fall where the evidence is greatest.
Comments about PBS NOVA: Judgment Day: Intelligent Design on Trial DVD:
Excellent coverage and presentation of an important event regarding the relationship of religion, science, and education.
