Comments about PBS Words and Music by Jerry Herman DVD:

I'm grateful that Jerry Herman (1931) is
alive and kicking up a memorable storm
of hits such as Hello Dolly & La Cage Aux Folles. This was recently made possible when a gay pianist and his partner played and sang for us LGBT members at a Seniors luncheon gathering
in a nearby town facility called "Cafe
Lakeview". But, they included many
of Cole Porter's songs as well. Jerry
is my age and that is a special bond to
have. I relived with him the interview
he shared with Michael Feinstein when
Michael played an unpublished melody by
Jerry Herman -- heard for the first time. This was joy unbond for them both. I share this and I feel that Jerry's many generational devotees will
too -- once they buy, listen and feel
tears of emotion in their eyes. REVIEW.
