Powerful documentary

Even though I was very familiar with Guthrie, I learned interesting new facts about his life from this documentary. I had purchased the DVD for use in the high school classroom, but the story, especially the end, was darker than I had expected. After reviewing it, I don't recommend this for the classroom, but will keep it for my personal libarary. It is very well done.

Gives a great background to this important American artist. I have recommended this film to my students who are doing research on the influence of Emerson and his call for the "American Poet."

Terrific historical context, photos, interviews.
And the evolution of Woody's music. Outstanding video!
