Comments about PBS Christmas In Norway With The St. Olaf Choir CD:

I requested this CD for a birthday present and was so disappointed with the quality of recording. It is the same music from the broadcast on TV but the sound on the TV broadcast was of a different quality completely. I cannot recommend this CD! Buy the DVD or Blu-ray and play it and listen to it, I guess. Of course since I don't own the DVD or Blu-ray I can't verify that it's any good either. I do know that the broadcast on PBS was great quality. So glad we had a DVR. I hope St Olaf's choir knows about this poor quality.

Comments about PBS Christmas In Norway With The St. Olaf Choir CD:

I loved the music so much when I saw it on TV that I had to buy this. But the audio is terrible. You have to turn the volume up all the way to hear it. I would love to get another copy if this problem is fixed. The music is beautiful but the sound is bad.

The audio volume was inconsistent. In order to hear the girls' choir, as well as the St Olaf Choir in some cases, I had to turn the volume up more than I ever do with a recording. Normally, I like to set the volume at one level and leave it. This just is not possible with this recording. The quality is extremely poor. In no way does it equal the quality of the original broadcast. Two of the disks were purchased as gifts and I did give them to the intended recipients with apologies! I am extremely disappointed!!!

I was fortunate to see the performance on TV and was so impressed that I knew I had to order A DVD for myself. I ended up getting 2 more to give as gifts and am looking to order yet another one but it has been on back order. I will try again soon.

Comments about PBS Christmas In Norway With The St. Olaf Choir CD:

This is not all Christmas music so I plan to enjoy it year-round. It is beautifully filmed in the spectacular Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, Norway. Two choirs of beautiful young people; the St Olaf Choir from Northfield MN and the Girl's Choir of the Cathedral in Trondheim perform separately and together.

The combined choirs' performance of "The Word Was God" by Rosephanye Powell blew me away and convinced me I had to have this. Had never heard it, and have found several other perfomances since, but none to compare with this.

I have the CD to play in the car, and highly recommend both it and the DVD for the lush photography.
