Although the fighting lasted for only six days in June of 1967, the effects of the Six Day War are still apparent today. On its 40th anniversary, the region remains trapped in conflict and is every bit as explosive as it was then. Shot on location in Israel, Palestine, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Moscow and Washington, this powerful film takes us through the weeks that preceded the war, its six days of fighting and its aftermath that lingers today.

Comments about PBS Six Days in June DVD:

Presented in a sequence and format of the events that led up to the 67 Arab/Israeli war. Made up mostly of news film footage from all sources tell of the sequences and ramifications of those historic events. One is left wondering how they could so utterly defeat their sworn enemies on all sides.

Comments about PBS Six Days in June DVD:

This is probably the most balanced, and certainly the most complete, nuanced, and well-researched documentary I've seen on the Middle East wars. An excellent mix of the military, political and personal influences on the course of events, particularly useful for describing the lead up to the war and the development of each separate stage of the war. In the end, even poignant.

Best Documentary on the Six-Day War

Comments about PBS Six Days in June DVD:

This is probably the best documentary available on the events of the Six-Day War. However, despite its billing, it doesn't delve into the implications of the war for the present, probably because that is such a lengthy subject it would require another whole documentary. Nevertheless this is one of the best documentaries I've seen recently.
