Comments about PBS Ferrets: The Pursuit of Excellence DVD:
For anyone who has experienced the joy and love of being owned by ferrets, this film portrays very well the unique joyous personalities of ferrets and their beloved owners. A film you can watch over and over again, and have a have a smile on your face each time.

I love this movie! It came on time and works perfectly. I was really excited because I saw this a couple summers ago and thought it was a joke but it actually exists!
Comments about PBS Ferrets: The Pursuit of Excellence DVD:
Loved this video from beginning to the end. We can see that to the owners these little creatures mean more than anything. They take them not as their pets but as their babies. What I enjoyed the most is hearing the ferrets talking to each other. It is very funny when they get into the baskets to steal wherever they can find; socks, boots, toys .... This video touches you deep inside. You want to see it over and over again. You can't get enough of what each ferret's owner has to say about their furries. You can feel the love they have for them. You cannot get over losing one. I lost one in March and still I cannot get over it. I miss her so much. Just like her name Precious that is what she was to me. I wish they could make another movie on ferrets. I would buy it right away.

Reading the previous reviews, I can understand your amazement. In fact, several years ago, I would be laughing too...and then I owned some of the little buggers.
Ferrets are amazing, mischievous, entertaining, cute, cuddly and quirky critters with an (cute and pink) nose for problem solving. If they want something bad enough, they will move Heaven and Earth to get it.
Keeping them, you soon appreciate their odd behavior and quickly become obsessed. I exhibited all the behaviors of the show goers.
To put it bluntly: don't judge us until you experience Ferret ownership. They'll sucker you in, I promise you.
The program might seem outrageous but to us, it's all par for the course.
Btw: They are kept in cages simply because it is deadly not to. One of my females got stuck halfway out of my sick drawer and died. For all their intelligence, their noses get them into all kinds of trouble. Only under supervision can they be allowed to run about.
Comments about PBS Ferrets: The Pursuit of Excellence DVD:
I don't know who these producers are, but they were very sneaky to secretly make this show into a mockumentary. The people in this film are filling emotional voids in their lives by convincing themselves that their ferrets love them. Keeping these poor critters locked up in cages for most of their lives, letting them run around a few hours a day only for the owners' entertainment, is not a way to show respect for these cool animals. Watching this was like watching a train wreck - I couldn't turn it off.
