PBS made a thoroughly informative documentary about the Latter Day Saints church from its birth to the present. The documentary includes interviews from former members as well as present members. It covers the topics of homosexuality, black men in the priesthood, modern day Mormon missionaries, as well as interviews with those who serve in the leadership of the church. The documentary is fairly non-biased and doesn't portray Mormons in a negative light. PBS doesn't hold back on discussing the darker times of the church's history though.

Comments about PBS The Mormons DVD:
Insightful and carefully crafted. But too little insight into why their prosletyzing world-wide is so successful. Fairly well-balanced. Too little emphasis on limited roles of women. Very limited exposure re radical beliefs. Always felt like every segment included was pre approved for inclusion and content by the Council of Twelve Apostles.

Beautifully done and objective showing of Mormon history and doctrine, this documentary is fair enough and tough enough to be in our Baptist church library.
