Laughter is the best medicine

By Toni the Marathoner

from NY, NY

Comments about PBS Stand Up: A Summer at Comedy Camp DVD:

Inspirational documentary showing how at-risk teens can turn their personal tragedies into comedy with the help of celebrity comedians who aren't afraid of tackling the tough lives these kids have endured. Viewers see these kids gain life-skills, confidence and healing by digesting their pain in a way that allows them to laugh and enjoy life again. The celebrity comics become the kids' therapists and the comedy routines become their antidepressants. Over the course of the Comedy Camp a select few teens have even have a chance to live the second half of their lives better than the first half.
