A tiny glimpse into the fantastically, inexplicable, powerful and mysterious behavior on these shire size monsters of the Universe! I just wish the video was a longer one with more details…especially if at current time, Scientists have more new data.

I recently viewed this NOVA presentation on PBS. It certainly didn't disappoint and provided outstanding revelations concerning the nature of;(a) Black Holes, (b) what causes them, (c) the frequency of these anomalies in galaxies and (d) the unimaginable vastness of the physical Universe that Black Holes exist within.

Example: I didn't realize that Black holes are currently believed by many in the scientific community to devour not only matter and energy but also to devour SPACE and time. I also didn't realize that the reason that light can't escape the event horizon of a Black Hole is because space has been accelerated by the Black Hole to velocities BEYOND the speed of light. I had always been taught that NOTHING could exceed the speed of light. WOW, looks like WARP SPEED is a confirmed reality! Great Video.

This is an engaging and up to the moment presentation. My students love astronomy, especially Black Holes. This shows men and women astronomers at work with their high tech instruments and having fun as they describe these mind expanding objects.
