Comments about PBS Masterpiece: The Paradise DVD:

I love this series. In fact I like it better than Selfridge. I would like to know why PBS has not let us know when Season 2 will be airing.

I absolutely adored this show. Want to see more of it. I like it better than Downtown Abbey. Please bring it back for another season.

This is a work of the highest quality

Comments about PBS Masterpiece: The Paradise DVD:

Why is Season 2 not available anywhere? No purchase options for the US, not available on either Netflix or Amazon Prime. It's just too good to have been shelved/wherehoused.

The best show should continue.

Comments about PBS Masterpiece: The Paradise DVD:

The Paradise is PBS's highest quality recent drama.  Its storyline, writing, acting, dramatic intensity, romance, humor, character complexity, and soundtrack excel those features in the next-best recent comparable shows, Downton Abbey and Mr. Selfridge.  The Paradise is at a higher artistic level.

I'd like to point out two of the features, which some viewers may not have fully appreciated:

The soundtrack: The background music is of superior stature — splendid, with good melody, strong emotional content, and fine matching of the musical character to the on-screen action. It is so good, that a CD was produced.

Humor: Unlike the other two mentioned shows, there are numerous and various funny things in The Paradise. Perhaps they should have included a laugh track (just kidding!).

The story was unfinished at the end of Season 1, and could well continue beyond Season 2 (after which the BBC canceled the show).

A few weeks ago I asked Masterpiece when Season 2 would begin, and received this reply: "We're certainly hopeful that we can schedule another season of The Paradise in the future, though there is no news to share at the present time." Unfortunately Masterpiece has not included it in the announced upcoming 2014 schedule.

So I'm asking PBS and Masterpiece to show Season 2 and replay Season 1, and urging them and the BBC to heed the many passionate fans of this great series who want to see more, a Season 3 at least.
