Having gotten that far, I shall now purchase the 22disk set from the earlier part of the series. As one who has been studying WW2 & conflicts before & after that; plus having served 28 yrs active in the U S Navy, I really do appreciate the historical background of the times and the people. Knowing today about the infiltration of British Intel by the Soviets (K Philby, MacLean etc) adds to the joy of watching Foyle & Sam do their job. Have seen some things in my life similar to Foyle's discovery that not all the good guys are GOOD and not all the bad guys are all BAD. Became friends thru adversity with an "enemy" in the Vietnam era, who became a
better a friend, then a few on our side; who were dealing drugs & doubling or worse. Learning more about the Cold War from Foyle's view is enlightening. Thanks to A. Horowitz and the whole crew and advisors.

I am stunned to find out that most of the DDV and BLU-RAY products that i have purchased from PBS over the years do not have subtitles automatically included. I was willing to pay for product at the price I paid thinking that surely subtitles would be included. I have since found out that is not so, and I hope this oversight in the year 2014 would be addressed. I would have returned rest of product if they had been wrapped separately.

Comments about PBS Masterpiece Mystery!: Foyle's War Set 7 DVD:

In this man's opinion, you cannot ask for a better series of hour mystery/dramas. You can find excellence in every facet of the production, but it truly reduces to the artfully crafted stories and the flawless portryal of DCS Foyle by Michael Kitchen. The series runs from the Great Depression to the Cold War, which was a difficult time of hardship, war and of course, great social and cultural change in Britain. Armed with a precise moral compass and dedication to his profession, his character is refreshingly "old fashioned" throughout, but never in danger of being out of touch or passe`.

Comments about PBS Masterpiece Mystery!: Foyle's War Set 7 DVD:

Foyle's career takes a turn for the worse in Set 7 when he is coerced into joining MI5. Foyle's War fans will enjoy this series even though, like the final set of the Home Front series. it paints a grim picture of post-war Britain and the beginning of the cold war. I miss the quirky, dry humour of the earlier sets.
