As a baby boomer, I was enthralled, enlightened, and deeply moved by this in-depth examination of President Johnson's life. What a complex, fascinating person he was, using his "down home" people skills to help usher in some of our greatest civil rights legislation. However, it was very poignant to see LBJ comes to grips with the fact that you cannot legislate people's attitudes and how you ultimately cannot control the course of human events. This documentary has made me an avid "American Experience" fan!

The American Experience series outdoes itself AGAIN. LBJ is as rousing and robust as its subject! Profoundly entertaining with great archival footage. Interviews with major players Henry McPherson, James Pickles, Jack Valenti, John Connelly, Richard & Doris Kearns Goodwin, Robert Dallek are stellar.
I found myself deeply effected by this documentary in its sweeping scope and Greek tragedy, disturbing almost. I was thinking about LBJ for a few days after I saw it.
