Comments about PBS American Experience: FDR DVD:
FDR's memory is a brilliant and inspiring star. He is a supernova shining against a dark and depressing backdrop of black holes represented by the likes of Willard Romney, Paul Ryan, Sarah Palin, George W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, Joe McCarthy, Lee Harvey Oswald, Benedict Arnold, Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer and other assorted psychopaths, and twisted evil creatures of U.S. history. It should be required that this video be watched by every high school student as a precondition for graduation and every immigrant a precondition for U.S citizenship.
Comments about PBS American Experience: FDR DVD:
Fantastic telling of FDR's life and times. Still photos and video from the late 1800's to the time he passed away in 1945...stunning! This DVD should not be missed.
Comments about PBS American Experience: FDR DVD:
Well worth having in ones collection. I am writing about FDR so this coverage is priceless. It would be cool if the DVD had subtitles. Still it's More than just a study aid . Entertaining and pacey. Thank You
Comments about PBS American Experience: FDR DVD:
This video is an excellent tool for the classroom as well as for personal enjoyment. The biography covers his entire life, sharing the accomplishments, failures, pains and passions of FDR. One of the greatest lessons to be learned from this man's life, deals with his perspective on suffering, and how his own personal struggle with Polio made FDR great leader, rather than a defeated man. The video documentary gives us a look into his personal life that a book may not be able to convey, especially the four seconds filmed showing how he had learned to walk with a cane.
Comments about PBS American Experience: FDR DVD:
I am an obsessive student of history and have read hundreds of biographies but FDR's life story is my favorite, full of real life events no Hollywood writer could have imagined. From the romantic era of his early childhood to the final days as his funeral train moved slowly across the country, every film clip, photo and narration in this DVD is spellbinding. FDR was our most complicated, profound, astounding and compelling president! Superbly documented!!!
