Comments about PBS American Experience: One Woman, One Vote DVD:
As a women's historian & a college instructor of U.S. history, I have shown this excellent documentary in my classes for many years. Students who considered themselves well-versed on the "usual story" of female enfranchisement came away from this film completely moved by the often little known & detailed history documented so meticulously here.
Some students were astonished at the relentless pace of women's innovation, courage and determination displayed time & again in this well-made documentary. Highly recommended for anyone who may take their democratic freedoms for granted!

I bought this for a history paper I'm writing. The information on it was different than what I found in other places which helped greatly. Because its broken up into some fifteen sections, it would also be a strong tool to teach with.
Comments about PBS American Experience: One Woman, One Vote DVD:
At a time when women around the world are being so horribly abused, this movie should arouse our souls to encourage women in foreign countries to be brave and continue with their pursuit of suffrage rights as well as their rights over their own bodies, their possessions, their right to an education and rights in regard to their children. It took 70 years in our free Democratic America for women to gain the right to vote, fighting against culturally accepted bondage and threatened big business. But in the end the statement that "The hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world" was never more evident than when Young Harry Burns voted yes and changed America forever. And for this reason we encourage women all over the world to press on and we should do our part to help them. A must see film.

I cannot find the words to describe how proud to get to know these
women that we felt watching this documentary and how sad that at
our age (60s) we were not familiar with their names before this program. This is such a worthwhile program that anyone of any age
should watch. It's such an eye opener and their story is so well told.
