Excellent Film

This was one of the best movies I have ever seen. I was never much of a Sherlock Holmes fan, my taste always leaned more toward the existentialist literature of Hemingway, Sartre, and Fitzgerald, but I turned my television to PBS one Friday night and found this piece of brilliance on and was immediatly enthralled. Anyone who has ever enjoyed a detective show or a murder-mystery will love this film and the superb acting of the whole cast.

Rupert Everett IS Sherlock Holmes

I loved Rupert Everett as Sherlock Holmes in this Masterpiece Theatre production. All in all this was a very classy version I thought...and one of the best I've seen. The beautiful settings, the London fog, the carriages....all very suspenseful and well done.
