From all reports, William Shakespeare was a decent guy. He was generous, funny, and could drink with the best of them. But one thing you didn't want to do is piss him off. Shakespeare was the Don Rickles of Elizabethan England - His brilliantly crafted insults and witty barbs could bring the fiercest soldier to tears.

Fun mug!

Gave this to my husband, an avid reader with a love for the classics. He was thrilled! We have had fun reading the insults in our best terrible british accents.

The words were smeared on the mug, probably when it was made and missed by QC. I wasn't going to bother to send it back but when I mentioned it on a survey the cost was refunded to me. I thought that was a classy thing for them to do.

Comments about PBS Shakespearean Insult Mug:

This was my favorite mug until th lettering started to fade from frequent use. In retrospect, I should have avoided putting it in the dishwasher.

Comments about PBS Shakespearean Insult Mug:

I purchased this mug for a friend who loves all things theater. He was delighted and it was passed around the group so everyone could try delivering an insult with gusto and dramatic flair. Great fun!

Great graduation present!

Comments about PBS Shakespearean Insult Mug:

I gave this to a friend who graduated in December, telling him that a person can not consider him/herself truly educated without knowing a little Shakespeare. Further, that unless one is into long soliloquies or love sonnets, the best way to go is to another form of writing at which the Bard excelled: interesting and effective Insults! He was delighted with the gift and having great fun insulting his friends. I bought one of these mugs for myself too and have enjoyed.

Clever conversation starter.

Comments about PBS Shakespearean Insult Mug:

The mug has several small imperfections in the glaze both inside and out. If I had intended it for a gift I would not have been able to use it for that purpose. It will serve to hold pens on a desk in my studio.

Comments about PBS Shakespearean Insult Mug:

It's a big contest to see who can identify the souce of all these wonderful insults first. This mug is also a perfect size with an easy to use handle. First ordered was for a gift; the second was for me.
