In 1892, celebrated Czech composer Antonin Dvorak arrived in America for a 3-year stay as the first director of the National Conservatory of Music. Using his unpublished letters, period photographs and journalistic accounts, and commentary by modern experts, Dvorak and America paints a fascinating picture of Dvorak and New York during the late 19th century. Features the music of Dvorak and Bedrich Smetana, performed by the Czech Philharmonic.
