These productions are by far the best if you like a lot of dialogue and dialogue that is closest to the books. Wish they were even longer.

This is a Christmas gift so has not been viewed.

These are older stage play like productions. Not even close in quality and budget to the more current Masterpiece versions.
I would prefer a set of the more current productions, that are only sold seperately.

I have seen all on TV, but to have it in my own house is a joy. Please do not be put off by the first review. The acting, the staging, the stories, all are spellbinding and delightful. It has marvelous insights into human nature.

I REALLY LOVE JANE AUSTEN MOVIES AND WAS SO LOOKING FORWARD TO WATCHING THESE BUT WAS DISAPPOINTED. THESE ARE VERY MUCH THEATRICAL PRODUCTIONS. MOST OF THE TIME, ONE TO TWO CAMERAS SHOOT PEOPLE TALKING FROM DIFFERENT ANGLES. I REALLY ENJOY OLDER MOVIES AND THOUGHT THESE WERE SHOT IN THAT FORMAT BUT THESE WERE SET UP WITH SCENE 1, 2, ETC.. I TOO WISH THERE WAS MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THIS COLLECTION BECAUSE HAD I KNOWN WHAT THEY REALLY WERE (PLAYS) I WOULD NOT HAVE ORDERED THEM. IF YOU LOVE GOING TO THE THEATRE AND WATCHING ACTORS PERFORM ON STAGE, THEN YOU WILL ENJOY THESE.
