In Building Pharaoh's Chariot, a team of archaeologists, engineers, woodworkers, and horse trainers join forces to build and test two highly accurate replicas of Egyptian royal chariots. They discover advanced features, including spoked wheels, springs, shock absorbers, anti-roll bars, and even a convex shaped rear mirror, leading one of them to compare the level of design to the engineering standards of 1930's-era Buicks!

Comments about PBS NOVA: Building Pharaoh's Chariot DVD:

Interesting doc. I've ever watched also on Planet Egypt DVD whn Israel's God punished Egypt for not letting the Israelits leaving Egypt under Moses command. There are seven punishments but only two are presented on the Planet Egypt DVD: the crickets rain & Pharaoh's army swallowed by the sea whn they chased the Israelits. Both are written on tablets.

Comments about PBS NOVA: Building Pharaoh's Chariot DVD:

It is so very interesting to realize that all of the major components of a modern vechicle are evident in the structure of the ancient carriages:
too bad that my husband passes away before this was available to view, he would have been delighted to have theory put to practice and prove ancient people were intelligent and curious about improving their plight.
